He earned his degree cum laude from the DAMS program at the University of Bologna, with a thesis on Constant Compositional Elements in W.A. Mozart’s Piano Sonatas, which was later published. On this subject, he participated as a speaker at the Second National Conference on Musical Analysis in 2001, and he has given lectures as a Guest Lecturer at Assumption University in Bangkok, as well as seminars and post-graduate Masterclasses at the University of Calabria. He is the head Professor of Piano and Professor of Instrumental Teaching Methodology and Repertoire Analysis at the Conservatory of Perugia. Awarded in various national and international competitions, he performs extensively in Italy and abroad, appearing in recitals, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist with orchestras. hroughout his concert and musicological career, he has performed for various institutions and music associations, including La Risonanza in Rome, the Circolo Filologico Milanese, the University of Bologna, the Roma Tre University, the Festival Musicale delle Nazioni at Tempietto Concerts, as well as the Italian Cultural Institutes of Brussels, Athens, and Rabat, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Austrian Embassy in Rome, and the Italian Embassy in Angola. As a soloist, he has performed with the Perugia and Umbria Symphony Orchestra, the Pescara Symphony
Orchestra, and the Instrumental Ensemble of Rome. Invited by RAI to participate in Europa Musicale '80, he recorded pieces subsequently broadcast on the radio network. He has recorded the complete cycles of Mozart’s Piano Sonatas and Schubert’s Impromptus for Vatican Radio, for which he has also produced numerous solo and chamber music recordings, in addition to hosting a number of musicological series featuring his piano performances (1989 Schubert's Pianism; 1991 Mozart's Piano Sonatas; 1993 Aspects of Romantic Pianistic Forms; 1997 20th-Century Sonatas and Sonatinas; 2008; Traveling with Mozart; 2009 Franz Schubert, the Great Wanderer; 2010 Robert Schumann, The Tale of Romantic Music). He has recorded for Novarte, the VOLUME! Foundation, Sheva Collection, and DAD Records. The latter released a CD in 2002 featuring his recording of a selection of Mozart's Piano Sonatas, which received positive reviews from both the public and critics. ("...what's new is that the complexity of the score is fully respected, without concessions to the conventions surrounding the musician that simplify the human dimension of the Salzburg genius." —Paolo Aita, SUONO, November 2003. "There are not so many musicians capable of providing fully credible musicological insights into the proposed repertoire… the interpreter shines, expressing notable and refined lyricism." — Giorgio De Martino, MUSICA, April 2004). His recording of Sonata KV 281 was even the subject of university theses on interpretative aspects of Mozart's Piano Sonatas. In 2008, he recorded Agitato with the VOLUME! Foundation, featuring pieces focused on the expression of bodily gesture. ("Marco Albrizio breathes new life into Khachaturian's Sonata... a provocative recording by Albrizio, illuminated by the intelligence of an interpreter who does not shy away from a challenge." —Stefano Ragni, IL GIORNALE DELL’UMBRIA, February 2008). In 2011, Sheva released his recordings of the complete cycles of Mozart's Sonatas and Schubert's Impromptus, and in 2016 his recording of Brahms’ Ballades Op. 10 and Schumann’s Intermezzi Op. 4 ("Marco Albrizio achieves an excellent balance between
autobiographical expression and structural integrity... a superb performance, perfectly balanced between expression and construction." —Paolo Aita, AUDIOPHILE SOUND no. 151, May 2016). Since 2013, Sheva has been publishing his recordings of Schubert's complete Sonatas in a nine-CD series, with the first seven CDs already released.
